Hank & Shaidri Alrich

We are a daughter and father duo who have been enjoying making music together for many years. Our sound is both traditional and contemporary. Solid instrumental work supports our vocal blend, that "blood harmony" often associated with the voices of kin..

We play guitars, mandolin, fiddle and five-string banjo, and our acoustic sound is sometimes spacious and gentle, and other times dense and powerful. We enjoy the sound of good acoustic instruments, and consequently we do not use electronic effects. Our delivery is relaxed but powerful, with humorous turns to round out a very appealing stage persona.

We draw from folk, bluegrass, Americana, old-time, old country, a great reservoir of songs by fabulous writers, and our own original material, to offer a roots music package that may not fit well into preconceived marketing niches, but which appeals to many people across genres and generations.

We can play for minutes, or we can play for hours. We are very adaptable and suitable for any venue with an attentive audience. Sometimes a little room for dancing helps, too.

Our debut CD, Carry Me Home, on Armadillo Records of Austin, Texas, has been well received by radio programmers, to date garnering airplay in ten countries and twenty-two states and provinces. It is now in its second pressing and continues to sell steadily. We recorded live in the studio with our dear friend Doug Harman supporting us on cello, all without headphones or overdubs. What you hear is what we played. We believe there are people who like honest music and the success of this album reinforces our belief.
